Sessions

Counseling usually consists of one hour weekly sessions, although this can vary depending on the your needs. Sometimes people prefer to meet more than once a week, sometimes less than once a week. Frequency of sessions is something we can decide together, and is also something that can change as required.

Treatment Length

The length of time you are in treatment, weeks or months, varies according to your issues. It is determined by meeting the objectives and goals set during your first sessions, but is flexible according to your needs and progress made.

Goals & Objectives

There are various ways I can help you immediately begin to address the problem and symptoms you’re experiencing. In some instances this may include enlisting the help of a psychiatrist, who can prescribe medication if need be, or an alternative health care practitioner.

Non-medication stress reduction techniques that fit your particular needs and situation and temperament, along with therapy sessions, will enable you to progress in achieving long term goals.

Confidentiality

Your privacy in therpay is protected according the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996. There are some exclusions to confidentiality – see details on my ‘Privacy Policy’ page.

Counseling for Individuals, Couples, and Families

You may address the life problem or transition you are experiencing through individual therapy or through a combination of individual and conjoint marriage/relationship/family sessions.
